The action from Saturday at JCB Golf and Country Club has set the stage for an exciting final round of the LIV Golf UK presented by JCB tomorrow. The spotlight is on Torque GC and Legion XIII, who are locked in a tight battle for the team title.
After two rounds, Torque GC leads with a score of -24, while Legion XIII is just three strokes behind at -21. Crushers GC, sitting at -14, remains a contender, ensuring a dramatic finish in this unique no-cut format where every player’s score counts in every round—a treat for the enthusiastic UK fans.
Torque GC’s strength comes from Joaquin Niemann, who tops the individual leaderboard at -14 after a standout -8 in Round 2. Carlos Ortiz and Sebastian Munoz are both at -6, with Ortiz slipping from -5 in Round 1 to -1 in Round 2, while Munoz stepped up with a strong 5-under performance on Saturday. Mito Pereira, however, struggled, finishing at +1 and dropping to T38 after a tough Round 2.
Legion XIII fights back with Caleb Surratt at -7 (thanks to a steady -3 in Round 2) and Tom McKibbin at -6 (with consistent -3s both days). Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, both at -4, have yet to hit their stride but have the potential to make a big move, keeping their team in the race.
Let’s not overlook “Crushers Sunday,” where Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC has previously surged in the final round to claim victory. Could they do it again?
In LIV Golf’s 13-team, 54-hole format, every shot matters, with the top eight teams earning points (32 for first, 24 for second, down to one for eighth) toward the season-long Team Championship. Tension is building: Will Niemann lead Torque GC to the trophy, or can Rahm and Hatton rally Legion XIII to steal the win?
