According to Flushing It Golf, LIV Golf will extend the contracts of its stars whose deals are expiring this season and/or next. Translation: LIV is committed to keeping its top players on the circuit, AND those elite talents are committed to the league.

The Extension Details

Per @FlushingItGolf on X: "Over the last few weeks, LIV Golf have been in discussions with all out of contract players who have not been released by their teams or relegated. Sources have confirmed that most of them have already agreed new deals and all of them are expected to do so, including the star names. This will be a welcome bonus to LIV Golf who have had to deal with lots of unsubstantiated speculation this year about players wanting to leave. There is currently no indication that any top players will be doing so during this off season or next. There are also several franchises that are looking to recruit at least 1 player for 2026. Team principles say that they are using data analysis models, in particular from the sports betting world, to identify and select new talent, with an emphasis on signing players who fit the unique format of the league and can immediately put in results. With team purses set to double, this is the most important off season yet for the franchises on the LIV Golf League. News about specific player signings and re-signings should start flowing soon when the contracts are fully finalised."

More Events for Players

Also, @FlushingItGolf reports: "Starting in 2026, all newly contracted LIV Golf players will be expected to play a minimum of 2 International Series events on the Asian Tour as well as the 14 events on the LIV Golf League. A lot of players already support these events, but the partnership between the International Series and the LIV Golf League will only continue to grow in the coming years. With the indemnity policy from LIV Golf to pay the fines of their players to the DP World Tour ending at the end of 2025, I would expect many of the star players on the LIV Golf League to add several Asian Tour events to their schedules next season. Especially with the newly awarded access to the Masters and Open Championships to the winners and highest placed finishers of specific events. There has been lots of talk and narratives about the negative effects of LIV Golf’s arrival, but the positive impact it’s had on the Asian Tour and non-US markets cannot be ignored. It’s huge!"
