As the wait begins for LIV Golf 2026, we take a look back to 2025 and ahead to next season by putting into focus the 24 golfers who escaped relegation but sit in the Open Zone. And then predict whether their current team will offer a contract or if another option is more likely for 2026.

In LIV Golf, the Open Zone is the section of the season-long individual standings for players ranked 25th through 48th. Players in this zone can remain in the league for the following season, but their current team is not obligated to offer them a new contract if their existing deal has expired. This means players in the Open Zone risk becoming free agents and can be signed by other teams or potentially lose their spot in the league if they are not re-signed.

One Hot Streak

Kevin Na came out swinging in 2025, finishing inside the points in three consecutive events after a t52 in Riyadh. In Adelaide, Na was t18, then Hong Kong collected his largest number of points (4.66) at t12, and finally Singapore was a t14. Iron Head GC fans' hopes were high for Kevin.

Na headed to Miami, comfortable in the season-long standings race, perhaps believing his form would carry him to a Lock Zone finish. But, it wasn't to be for the 42-year-old.

Crawling To The Finish

After March, Kevin Na cracked the Top 40 just one time (t34). Over those final nine LIV Golf events, he scored over par in 17 of 27 rounds played, and even par twice, leaving eight rounds in the red. Na had eight rounds under par in the first four events (12 rounds) combined. The collapse was epic.

All aspects of his game are triggering alarms. 52nd in Driving Distance, 43rd in Greens in Regulation %, and t43 in Putting Average leave much to be desired from a captain.

Iron Heads Overhaul?

Outside of a magical run at the 2024 Team Championship, Iron Heads GC are a forgotten team in the league. With their captain showing his age, maybe this offseason brings an overhaul. If so, Na's role may change. He should return to the team, but a higher-profile, younger face of the franchise could enter the picture, putting the pressure on Na to regain some form in 2026.
