As the wait begins for LIV Golf 2026, we take a look back to 2025 and ahead to next season by putting into focus the 24 golfers who escaped relegation but sit in the Open Zone. And then predict whether their current team will offer a contract or if another option is more likely for 2026.

In LIV Golf, the Open Zone is the section of the season-long individual standings for players ranked 25th through 48th. Players in this zone can remain in the league for the following season, but their current team is not obligated to offer them a new contract if their existing deal has expired. This means players in the Open Zone risk becoming free agents and can be signed by other teams or potentially lose their spot in the league if they are not re-signed.

Cameron Certainty

Phil Mickelson was the highest-finishing HyFlyer in 2025, but his "number 2," Cameron Tringale was a steady presence inside the points line. Tringlae only notched three zeroes during the thirteen-week LIV Golf season, good for 28th in the Individual Standings.

He peaked with a Top 5 in Singapore, but also delivered three Top 10s and five Top 15s. For a pro with a "unique" golf swing, Cameron proved to be consistent (again) for his team, narrowly missing out on the Lock Zone!

Fairways & Greens

It's easy to paint a picture of stability on the course. Just hit fairways and greens, while being able to limit the damage when you aren't. This is Cameron Tringale to a T. 43rd in Driving Distance, yet 11th in Fairway hit %, 11th in Greens in Regulation %, and 7th in Scrambling. He's as sure as they come at the age of 38.

Aging HyFlyers Need A Spark

Teammate Andy Ogletree was relegated, while Brendan Steele narrowly escaped being dropped, putting the future of Phil Mickelson's roster firmly in the uncertain category. It's nice to have a player similar to Tringale on the roster, but the team needs more. Cameron will return for another year in the League, but who else will don the black and white with him and Lefty?
