As the wait begins for LIV Golf 2026, we take a look back to 2025 and ahead to next season by putting into focus the 24 golfers who escaped relegation but sit in the Open Zone. And then predict whether their current team will offer a contract or if another option is more likely for 2026.

In LIV Golf, the Open Zone is the section of the season-long individual standings for players ranked 25th through 48th. Players in this zone can remain in the league for the following season, but their current team is not obligated to offer them a new contract if their existing deal has expired. This means players in the Open Zone risk becoming free agents and can be signed by other teams or potentially lose their spot in the league if they are not re-signed.

Mr. Reliable

In the eleven events Ben Campbell started and completed, he earned points in six. That level of consistency is something mid-tier teams look for from the 2nd/3rd slot in the roster, but expectations for Ben were more on par with a 4th slot. So, Bubba Watson and RangeGoats GC were surely happy with his 2025 performance.

The New Zealander even earned a podium position in Singapore! Although a withdrawal and a DNP during the mid-season stretch left him with the lowest place in standings for a LIV Golfer with a Top 3. But again, making the jump from 2024 League reserve to a full-time replacement for the traded Thomas Pieters, Campbell's contributions were plenty.

Short But Steady Off The Tee

The "Kiwi" claimed the 10th best Fairway % in 2025, which translated to 24th in Greens in Regulation %. He isn't a bomber by any stretch, owning the 53rd-best Driving Distance at 287.5 yards off the tee on average. He was BY FAR the shortest driver for RangeGoats GC.

Putting was a problem. T43 in Putting Average turned his steady "fairways and greens" game into just the 38th most birdies (it didn't help he missed those five full rounds, either). You have to imagine that will be the focus this offseason for Ben.

Earned His Contract Renewal

The Goats should be more than happy to bring Campbell back for another run in 2026. He flashed in Singapore and provided plenty of other rounds that helped the team. He is one of the best stories of 2025: from filling in three times in 2024 to earning points in 5 events in 2025, the progression was visible.

It's even possible that a better year awaits, if Ben can play every event next year!
