Anthony Kim's comeback story continues to be a rollercoaster. One day after draining a birdie putt on the 18th hole to advance to the weekend, Kim (-4) sits in a prime position (t2) to recapture a spot in the LIV Golf League for 2026.
AK fired a bogey-free round of 66 on Saturday that will carryover to Sunday's final round at Black Diamond Ranch, home of this season's Promotions event. He will tee it up in the final group alongside current leader Richard T. Lee of Canada (-6) and Jazz Janewattananond (-4).
Kim hit 12/14 fairways (85.7%), second-best in the field, 13/18 greens in regulation (72.2%), sixth-best, and his 1.56 putting average was good for fifth-best on Saturday. He's been on an incredible run this winter, seemingly turning a corner with his game after a t5 finish at the PIF Saudi International.
What are his thoughts on what he's learned about his own game this week?
"I haven't learned anything. I know that if I play well, I can play with the best in the world. I've been working up to that, and obviously my results don't show that. But I know where I am. I've played at a high level before. I expect to play there again. That's the only reason I'm working so hard." - Anthony Kim after Saturday's round
Meanwhile, Canadian Richard T. Lee continued his dominance over "The Ranch" this week. He's bogeyed one hole over three days, and leads the field by two strokes with 18 to play. Does Lee feel comfortable playing with the lead with three LIV Golf League golden tickets on the line?
"Honestly, I don't think it would be comfortable for any player to have a two-shot lead on the last day. I think just putting my hat on and just play my golf. Play golf." - Richard T. Lee current leader
The stage is set. Wet weather is expected for Sunday's play, making every shot that much more difficult. How will this iteration of the Anthony Kim comeback ride end?
